NearlyFreeSpeech.net just works

Rather than utilize one of a dizzying array of hosting companies that are all about the same, I chose a different approach. NearlyFreeSpeech is different.

NearlyFreeSpeech.net is very different. Instead of charging a flat fee for a certain amount of storage and bandwidth, NearlyFreeSpeech fees are based on what you actually use. It is an interesting business model, and I’m very interested to see how it works.

NearlyFreeSpeech also stands out for using a very conservative approach to security.  On the web, that’s a very good thing.

In the first week of hosting, my charges total…only six cents. Connectivity has been reliable, and the website has been responsive. The underlying operating system appears to be well secured. Technical support has been timely.

And I agree with the NearlyFreeSpeech beliefs that drive their service and support. I am happy to help support such an enterprise, and pleased to be able to display their logo on my blog.
